What We Do?

 

The South African Certified Lactation Course is a Post-Graduate Lactation-specific Course developed for Registered Nurses, Midwives and other Registered Related Health Practitioners in order to provide a high National Standard Qualification for Lactation Consultants in South Africa.

 

The course seeks to enhance the health of the community by promoting breast feeding and encouraging the observation of published standards and ethical codes by the International Lactation Consultants Association and the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants, while catering for lifestyles, cultures and the National Health Structures in place in South Africa.

 

Who We Are?

 

The course has been developed by Sr. Hettie Grové and Sr. Lynda Lilienfeld, who are both Registered Nurses, Midwives , International Board Certified Lactation Consultants and International Certified Childbirth Educators. Sr Hettie Grové also has a degree in Nursing Education and Administration.

 

Both Sr. Grové and Sr. Lilienfeld have been in Private Practice running Registered Well-Baby Clinics for the past 12 years offering Immunisations, Childbirth Education Classes and assisting mothers with lactation and feeding.
